This work is devoted to the study of euphemisms of the thematic groups "age", "disease" and "death" on the basis of Russian and Chinese languages. The article considers the problem of studying euphemistic units in various aspects, as well as the relevance of their use in the communication process. Of particular interest is the identification and study of the specifics of education and the use of euphemisms in Russian and Chinese. The purpose of the study is to study euphemization in the field of intercultural communication. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were completed: to study the theoretical works of domestic and foreign authors on the study of euphemisms in linguistics; using directed sampling, distinguish euphemisms of the thematic groups "age", "disease" and "death"! in Russian and Chinese; conduct a pilot experiment to identify the cultural characteristics of euphemization in China and in Russia. The material for the work was the euphemistic vocabulary of the selected thematic groups in Chinese and Russian. Dictionaries of euphemisms and research papers on this topic were chosen as sources of research. The results can be used in the course on the basics of the theory of intercultural communication.
