This article attempts to summarize peculiar features of the most frequently found forms of expressing politeness; besides, factors of national culture are analyzed. The ways of expressing politeness in the Chinese language are indissolubly linked to cultural traditions. All of them include one or the other national cultural factors and reflect some traditional value views.
