The theory, ethics and aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting is fundamentally different from the historical theory of Western European painting. For many centuries, its formation and development has directly depended on Chinese philosophical thought. The Chinese theory of teaching painting reflects the whole complex of Chinese ideas about the world and the place of a person in it, and the basic idea is that form is only a means of expressing the spirit - qi energy. For a better understanding of the cultural phenomenon of Chinese painting, as well as its drawing methods and techniques, a student belonging to another culture should know that Chinese philosophy is the foundation on which all learning is built. The purpose of this article is to analyze how the three schools of Chinese philosophical thought - Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism or San Jiao are linked with the Chinese painting art.
