This article is devoted to the peculiarities of the translation of elements of the Chinese language using the Latin alphabet. Translation of Chinese texts has a number of nuances that should be considered while translating. Translation of terms can be difficult, as the Chinese language does not have a rich established terminological base. Translation of phraseological units and images also deserves special attention, as a translator in such translation must have extensive knowledge of culture. Translation of Chinese texts requires knowledge of hieroglyphs, but in China the Pinyin system is also used. This is a transcription of the pronunciation of hieroglyphs in Latin letters. Pinyin is used to transliterate foreign names and titles, and helps in keyboard typing of hieroglyphs.
