This paper describes theoretic and practical research of the selected thematic group of household signs, the structure of which includes a component – zoolexeme in Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures. Of particular interest in the framework of the problem posed is the study of everyday signs as linguistic, cognitive and cultural phenomena. Special attention is paid to the definition of general and excellent in the importance of signs in Chinese and Russian linguistic culture. The purpose of our research is to study the signs as a key to understanding the culture and thinking of the people, as well as comparing the aspects of Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures. As sources of research used data from dictionaries, reference books and scientific papers. The subject of our study is the everyday omen in Russian and Chinese languages, and the object of the study is the specifics of studying Russian and Chinese signs in linguistic cultures. In the process, there were addressed and decided such tasks as studying the theoretical framework of omens in Russian and Chinese; the collection and analysis household signs, the structure of which includes a component – zoolexeme both in above-mentioned languages; the disclosure of linguistic and cultural features of the selected material. The obtained results can be used in intercultural communication.
