Mastering the grammar is important not only for speaking correctly, but also for understanding the foreign language interlocutor. Communicative failures result from numerous mistakes. Typical mistakes are wrong word order, the absence or incorrect placement of grammatical indicators, incorrect lexical compatibility etc. All of them will inevitably lead to a communicative failure, even if pronunciation is good. There are two approaches in the methodology of teaching foreign language grammar that are traditionally distinguished - implicit and explicit. Only a harmonious combination of implicit and explicit approaches guarantees both the mastering of grammatical rules and the ability to put this knowledge into practice, that is, to speak and understand the interlocutor correctly. Chinese language textbook for secondary school “Chinese. Second Foreign Language” («Rosouchebnik» Publishing House) presents an example of such a harmonious balance between the traditional approach and contemporary teaching methods .
