For the first time at the Open Dialogue, we are holding a round table discussion on a current problem - who and how teaches Chinese on the Internet?
All of us, professional teachers, have come across the deplorable results of learning from unqualified "teachers" from the Internet, these "gurus" of the Chinese language.
The number of such problems is increasing in proportion to the popularity of Chinese. We invite you to discuss and together develop a set of possible measures in an open discussion.

Gamification of Chinese lessons (using mobile applications as an example)

If 15 years ago you were told that mobile phones would become one of the usual educational tools along with textbooks and a whiteboard, what would be your reaction?! Modern students cannot imagine their existence without various gadgets, at the head of which is a phone. And sometimes it is difficult for us to get them out of this virtual world to put knowledge into their minds.

Currently, a huge number of applications can help us integrate into their "phone-tablet world", and to master recently received or forgotten knowledge in the game form. We will tell you about those apps which are easy to use during the classes, turning them into exciting competitions, and which make homework a "Race of Heroes", where there will be no losers, and the main prize is a new level of Chinese!

    Learning Chinese with tabletop games
Piaget once said: "The purpose of games is to get happiness." The charm of games is far-reaching. People of all ages and statuses like to play games, so using games to learn and practice Chinese can make students learn it without any pressure in the classroom.
There are many types of games. This time I will mainly share the application of tabletop games in Chinese classes. Tabletop games are a common type of leisure and entertainment. They, as the name suggests, refer to games played on a table or any other surface. Using tabletop games to learn Chinese emphasizes practicality and fun, which makes it interesting, and then stimulates their desire to learn Chinese, enhances their motivation, and allows them to learn it autonomously. The practical aspect is to let students practice different Chinese abilities in games.
Different tabletop games allow students to practice different abilities. Some games allow students to strengthen their listening and speaking skills, while others allow students to practice reading, literacy, etc. This time I will share 2-3 tabletop games that can be played regardless of age. In addition, with the rapid development of technology, almost every student now has a computer. Students like to play mobile games. Of course, teachers can teach Chinese through digital activities. I will also share 2-3 ways to use mobile phones in class.

The Taiwanese textbook 《学华语向前走》and its teaching suggestions based on the task teaching method
The task-based teaching method is a teaching method that has been widely promoted in recent years, which can help second language learners use the target language in a real context and complete the tasks needed in life. The Taiwanese textbook 《學華語向前走》 is a foreign Chinese textbook designed for elementary and middle school students. Task-based teaching is one of the key points of the design concept of the textbook.
This article first introduces the design concept of the textbook《學華語向前走》, and then evaluates this textbook from the perspective of task-based teaching methods, analyses the tasks and activities of each lesson, and finally provides the future substantial teaching suggestions for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language in primary and secondary schools based on the evaluation results.
In terms of research methods, according to Nunan (2006), tasks can be divided into target tasks and pedagogical tasks. This article will analyze the proportion of the two in the textbook and provide teaching suggestions based on the authenticity of the textbook task.
